Numerous studies recommend letting students sleep in a bit later because it better matches their biological design and would lead to improved results, test scores, etc. But it probably wont happen, Im guessing. Theres also research indicating that letting employees power nap on the job would increase their performance. While some places are allowing that, consider that one even more unlikely to happen on a mass scale. In various cases, we can essentially prove that counter-intuitive measures would increase human standard of living and performance as well as happiness, but we discard such notions because of cultural constructs of what is really hard work and what is really responsible--even if it leads to less of each.
