Nurit Peled Elhanan is a Professor of language and education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Following the death of her 13 year old daughter in a suicide bombing in 1997, she became an outspoken critique of the Israeli occupation. Its her book - Palestine in Israeli Schoolbooks : ideology and propaganda in Education. She argues the textbook used in Israeli school system marginalize Palestinians and are designed to prepare Israeli children for military service. She analyzed Israeli textbooks - studying their use of Images,maps,layouts and language in the subject of History,Geography and Civic Studies.
