O Believers! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed for those before you; so that you may guard yourselves (against evil). Fast a certain number of days, but if any one among you is ill or on a journey, let him fast a similar number of days later; and for those that cannot endure it there is ransom: the feeding of a poor man. But he that will give more of his own free will, it is better for him; but to fast is better for you, if you but knew it. May ALLAH guide us through.
