O, ɖe makpɔ aɖe akpewo Kple nu akpewo hã! Ekem makɔ nye gbe akafu Mawu ƒe dɔmenyonyo, Mawu ƒe dɔmenyo. Glory be to God since today marks my 10th anniversary after completing my secondary education. Those days in SOSTECH were just too hard for me to bear. Nothing seemed to be going well but my God was faithful. I was begged to go to the school because that was not the school that chose me and I also thought the school was not much a good school for me. Indeed I was right because the school had no educational facilities to aid teaching and learning. Admittedly, the school also admitted people with the poorest grades and hence no better competition. When I later on joined the school, not out of my wish but because all my colleagues had gone to other good” schools and I was becoming a hometechan”, I faced many challenges; financial, academic, physical and psychological. I struggled well enough to go through school. Before me now is one of my terminal reports which I had F throughout because I couldnt pay my fees to write the exams. There were many others that I never told anybody even up till now. I began depreciating academically and started living on past glories. Another important fact to note is that, had it not been mother SOSTECH, that community school, I wonder whether I would have tasted secondary education. Today, I wouldnt wait for you to tell me that the Lord has been good to me. I know that for a fact myself. After my last paper 10 years ago, I tore my school shirt and burnt part of it because of how bitter going through the four -wall of that school was. I stayed home sometimes because either my shirt was torn or I had no sandals to wear. If it was hunger, i went to school with it all the time. One day, a colleague gave me his sisters footwear to be using. Even though it was too tight on my feet, I managed it because I had no option. After using it for about a month, he came back for it because the sister and mother were looking for it. The story will never end. What I want to say is thank you Baba for how far you have brought me. I kept a standard and here I am. To those who were beside me and are still beside me, Im grateful. To mother SOSTECH and my teachers, I say God reward you abundantly. Our God reigns.
