*** OBAMA HALTING RELIGIOUS FREEDOM IN MILITARY*** Fleming to Hold Press Conference on Military Religious Freedom **MEDIA ADVISORY** Washington, D.C., Jul 8 - Congressman John Fleming, M.D., (LA-4) will lead a press conference tomorrow to discuss the increasing attacks on religious freedom in the military. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 11:30 AM at House Triangle Rep. Fleming speaks on military religious freedom Also participating in the press conference will be: Rep. Jim Bridenstine, Rep. Louie Gohmert, Tony Perkins (Family Research Council), Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Jerry Boykin, and Chaplain Ron Crews (Col.) USAR (Ret.). Congressman Fleming spoke about this issue recently on the House floor. He also introduced an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that was passed with bipartisan support in the House Armed Services Committee and that was included in the NDAA, which passed in the House of Representatives. The Fleming amendment drew a statement of opposition from the Obama Administration. A similar religious freedom amendment from Senator Mike Lee passed the Senate Armed Services Committee. Dr. John Fleming is Chairman of the Natural Resources Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, Oceans and Insular Affairs and is a member of the House Armed Services Committee. He is a physician and small business owner and represents the 4th Congressional District of Louisiana.
