OBAMACARE - Health insurance companies are sending notices of cancellation to hundreds of thousands of people who buy their own coverage, frustrating some consumers who want to keep what they have and forcing others to buy more expensive policies. o Meanwhile, young people in 45 states will see their health insurance premiums increase under Obamacare because the law relies on the money they pay into the system to offset the cost of caring for older enrollees, according to a new study. o Virginia leads the pack, as individuals aged 27 and under will see their health insurance premiums jump by 252.5 percent -- $416.55 -- according to the Heritage Foundations Center for Data Analysis. o Virginians under the age of 50 will see their premiums jump by an even greater percentage, rising from $228 to $991.03. o Insurers say the federal health-care marketplace is generating flawed data that is straining their ability to handle even the trickle of enrollees who have gotten through so far, in a sign that technological problems extend further than the website traffic and software issues already identified. o Even with the healthcare exchanges up-and-running, 47 percent of all uninsured Americans are still not very familiar with them, according to a new Gallup study released Friday. o However, the officials continue to refuse to say how many people have actually enrolled in the insurance markets. Without enrollment figures, its unclear whether the program is on track to reach the 7 million people projecting by the Congressional Budget Office to gain coverage during the six-month sign-up period. o According to a new Gallup survey, more people than ever are now saying they will pay the fine, as opposed to enrolling. In the new survey, 56% say they plan to get insurance, while 34% say they are more likely to pay the fine. In September, 25% said they were more likely to pay the fine. o Administration officials say about 476,000 health insurance applications have been filed through federal and state exchanges, the most detailed measure yet of the problem-plagued rollout of President Obamas signature legislation. But the administration did not reveal how many people actually enrolled in new health care plans through the exchange. o Director of the Office of Managament and Budget Sylvia Burwell said she could not guarantee the Obamacare website would be fixed by December. o The Obama administration claims that it is working night and day to fix problems in an ObamaCare website that had a rocky rollout this month. o President Obama will directly address the technical problems with the ObamaCare website during a Rose Garden event Monday morning, according to a White House official. o The queen of talk, Oprah Winfrey, reportedly declined a White House invitation last summer for a meeting aimed at helping President Obama sell his signature health care law to the American public.
