OBASANJO TOOK AFTER AWOLOWO AND BECAME THE NO 1 HEATER OF IGBOS—EASTERN PILOT REPORT The saying is true, that leopard doesnt change its skin, and same is accurate of a despotic ruler, cruel, barbaric, wicked and devilish in his disposition towards every person that speaks bia (i.e Igbos). Chief Obafemi Awolowo was a hater of Ndigbo for the purposes of his narrow interest which drove him into co-massacring millions of Igbo children, women and the elderly. It was however evident during Obasanjo’s rule that he had taken the gauntlet of the No. 1 hater of Ndigbo from Awolowo as he deliberatly attempted to frustrating Igbos by the near closure of the ports and scheming out of South East States from nearly all his yearly budgets among other things. Obasanjo, we gathered appeared un-repented, even after his annihilative propensities against the Igbos during the brutal civil war of 1967-1970. Obasanjo was quite instrumental to the application of starvation against the Igbos which Awolowo said was an acceptable instrument of warfare. The grave animosity Obasanjo nurses against the Igbos was said to have developed very dangerously way back in the 1960s. With the hatred burning with passion, he was conspicuously quite instrumental to the application of starvation as an acceptable weapon of warfare. And at the end of the war however, for all that the Igbos had, he rallied around his brother and co-traveller, Awolowo, who was the finance minister to approve only 20pounds per account holder in any bank, which had the immediate result of pauperizing the Igbos and earned a profit of 4million pounds for the Federal Government treasury. In 1972, in order to ensure that the Igbos were totally impoverished, an Indigenization Degree of most foreign owned companies was introduced. Obasanjo not satisfied with the outcome, enacted another Indigenization Decree in 1976 to clean up the balance of the common Wealth of Nigeria and ensure that the Igbos were left out, since the Igbos had not recovered from the civil war. Soon after, Obasanjo set up the Major David Mark (current President of the Senate) Committee on abandoned property which put the seal of approval on the seizure of property of Igbos. Immediately after this, he set up the boundary adjustment commission. It was the commission that extended the boundary of River State to IMO River and ensure that all oil producing areas in Igbo land were taking away into other States. Earlier in 1976, Obasanjo as chief of staff ensure that Igbos were short-changed during the creation of 19 States. When they created Ogun, Oyo and Ondo States but gave the Igbos only Anambra and Imo States. It is believed that it was at about this time that he gave the Igbos, through two Igbo women he raped in a military tent two sons whom he boasted could be the Governors of two Igbo States. It is pathetic to note that for a Head of State who promoted a Lt. Col. to Brigadier and made him his deputy as Chief of Staff, the best Igbos, could get throughout his tenure was either one seat in Supreme Military Council (SMC) or a Military Governor of one of the States. Impeccable facts have it that Obasanjo masterminded the killing of one of Biafras finest officers, Col. Tim. Onwuatuegwu and a host of other Biafran Officers three days after the end of the civil war in January 1970. A testimony to that was a paid advert in THIS DAYS NEWSPAPER dated July 15, 2002 on page 37, one Mr. YAYA ALIYU said and we quote “also the summary execution of innocent Biafran Officers after they had surrendered in January 1970 on the order of the commanding officer who saw the surrender of Biafrans should be investigated, and especially the execution of Col. Tim Onwuatuegwu by that commander who had been his contemporary in the former Nigerian Army but then became the Commander of the Third Marine Commando of the triumphant Federal Military”. It has to be observed from the outset that the impact of Obasanjos Igbo hatred influence on Nigeria was swift and total. Like the Germans, the defeat in the Nigerian civil war left the Igbos vulnerable to the ruthless Nigerian Government who rather than rebuilt concentrated its efforts on dismantling what was called the vestiges of Biafra. Events unfolding in Nigeria daily confirm beyond reasonable doubt that Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo is a rabid hater of the Igboman, whether Chief Ojo Mmaduekwe, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and other Igbo apologists of Obasanjo want to believe it or not. The catalogue is legion. Despite his friendship with Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu; the Okpanam-born national hero of January 15, 1966 aborted revolution refused to intimate him on “OPERATION DAMISCA” (Tiger) on whose cover he used to storm the home of the late Sarduana of Sokoto in the early hours of January 15, 1966. Nzeogwu knew his friend as a coward who could develop cold feet if told about the plans of the FIVE MAJORS. When the Nigeria/Biafra war started in 1967, Obasanjo (who was not brilliant enough to attend Sandhurst with Nzeogwu, Adekunle, etc) was in the rear at Ibadan. He never saw the war front. But when his brother, Col. Benjamin Adekunle suffered reverses along the Owerri-PH road in early 1967, Obasanjo, an engineering personnel and not combatant soldier cashed on his brothers misfortune and got Gowon to post him to Owerri to finish Biafra. After this, he told Gowon that for Biafra to collapse, several war fronts must be opened at the same time in January 1970, which the Igbos could not contain. So on January 3rd 1970, the first Division at Enugu, 3rd Marine Commando at PH, 2nd Division at Onitsha opened the final fire on Biafra. Obasanjo at Obodoukwu took the Biafra surrender from Genera Philip Effiong and since then his contempt for Igbo has known no end. On getting back to Owerri from Obodoukwu, Obasanjos eyes were dashing right and left for Biafran damsel to force into his tent as a big womanizer. The result of his escapade in Owerri, despite his hatred for Igbos, was a love child from a beautiful Owerri damsel whom he came to claim in 1991. While as Head of State and bachelor, why did he not come like Emperor Jean Bedel Bokossa of Central African Empire to look for his child as a soldier in Owerri. Rather in 1977, he came to Owerri and told off our Ezes in a welcome address who asked for Universities, Airport, Good roads and Industries. Perhaps, and wondering while Governor Ndubisi Kanu should be building good roads in Owerri, he quickly transferred him to Lagos, and brought late Commodore Adekunle Lawal to halt the pace and progress in Owerri. Two weeks after his visit to Owerri, he went to Lafia, Plateau State and promised #50m Federal Government Aid to Lafia Agric project. He ensured that no Steel Rolling Mill, Police Zonal Headquarter, palm produced Board Headquarter and Refinery came to Igbo land. Through Mamman Nasir, he took Obigbo and 17 Ndoki villages to Rivers State in 1977, but refused to do same at Arochukwu Cross River State boarder using the river as boundary. Obasanjo is indisputably the number one hater of Ndigbo and any Igbo man observed to be working for him uptil now should be viewed very strongly as an enemy and shall be treated as such, ma ha aga anu, ma ha aga aghara.
