OBITUARY Felix P. Schneider, Jr., 71, of Coos Bay, Oregon, died on July 23, 2013. Felix was born to Clarice Schneider of Coos Bay, and the late Felix P. Schneider, Sr. of Gold Beach, Oregon. Felix Schneider went to Benson Poly Technical High School for four years but graduated from Madison High School in Portland, Oregon. From there Felix went on to be chosen for a Multnomah Electronics College from among 156 graduates, where he got his degree. Felix was hired by the Federal Aviation Administration for their technical program. During Felix’s 40 years with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) he received many accolades and awards for his collaborative expertise, job performance, and for going above and beyond what was expected. Felix was also chosen to serve as an instructor and worked as a consultant for various technical projects. Felix was a pilot and flew planes in Alaska and the U.S., he was an inventor and innovator and put together a solar power system in Winnemucca, Nevada, where he lived comfortably with his wife and son for 10 years off the grid before it became popular to do so. While working for the FAA, Felix traveled with his family to various parts of the United States including Alaska, Guam, and the Virgin Islands. Felix retired in Battle Mountain, Nevada and, joined his family in Coos Bay, Oregon after he retired. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Schneider, his mother, Mrs. Clarice Schneider, his brother Robert Schneider, and his youngest son, Keith Schneider of Coos Bay, Oregon. He is also survived by his son, James Schneider and Grandson, Ryan Schneider of Half Moon Bay, California; Mr. Michael Schneider of Sunrise, Florida; Christopher Schneider of Sutter Creek, California. Felix’s step-daughter Mrs. Rachel Potter, and grand-daughter Mckay Potter of Reno, Nevada. He is also survived by his Aunt Diane Elliott, of Pistol River, and his cousins: Michael Elliott, Fort Collins, CO; Blanche “Babe” Mills of Great Falls, MT.; Kathy Magnuson of Hillsboro, OR; Marian Tinsley of Lynwood, WA.
