OBJECTIONABLE CONTENT: While we wait on a decision about Darwin the IKEA monkey I can tell you there has been much going on behind the scenes which has not been brought to light. Supporters of the sanctuary were asked not to make comments until the trial was over. The trial is over and the decision lies with the judge now. However the sting of being at the opposing end of this fight, to have Darwin returned to his former owner, will live on for a while because there here are some defamation and harassment charges pending. The former owner is a lawyer and officer of the court and to think she would condone, participate in and encourage this behaviour boggles my mind. What supporters of the Story Book Primate Farm Sanctuary have endured is beyond comprehension. I know first hand because outside court one of them handed out flyers to the media in an effort to discredit me by saying, among other things, I was a liar, hypocrite and did not care about animals. Rob Laidlaw the head of Zoocheck has had his name dragged through the mud and accused of being corrupt along with Liz White, Head of Animal Alliance and pretty well every law enforcement person in Durham. We are not directly involved with Darwin so you can only imagine what the attacks against the sanctuary, its owner and volunteers have been like. This article, gives an excellent overview of what has been going on. Some of it you may find objectionable so I apologize but these are some of the less outrageous posts. heatherclemenceau.wordpress/2013/06/16/ikea-monkey-trial-a-war-of-words-with-casualties-mounting/
