OCTOBER IS NATIONAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women, except for skin cancers. For a women age 50, the odds that she will develop invasive breast cancer in the next 10 years is 1 in 42. For a women age 60, the odds are 1 in 29. For a women age 70, the odds are 1 in 27.
