ODD THOMAS - SPOILER ALERT!!!!!! This week, I am doing a review of not one, but several books. As I have stated before, Dean Koontz is my favorite author, and his stories have an energy, a heart, and a grade A personality. Odd Thomas is the story of a young fry cook from the small desert town of Pico Mundo, CA. He is exceptionally Odd, and has a special gift that few know about, he can see the dead, hearing them is another story entirely, and something that he can not do. The books follow him through the ups, and more often than not, downs of his life. In the first book, we meet his love, Stormy Llewellyn. She is killed in the first novel of the series, but this does not stop her footprint to be left on every page of each book. And on that note, Odd leaves Pico Mundo, and travels elsewhere. We do not know exactly where until the next book, and then the next, and the next. He continually moves around to different small towns, and even an Abbey, where he faces real demons, in a manner of speaking. Also something that is worth noting in this series is the use of creatures known as bodachs. Odd doesnt know where they come from, or what their purposes are, but what he does know, is that wherever bodachs are, death will soon follow. And not to give too much away, but nearing the end of the first book, there are thousands covering the inside of a major mall in Pico Mundo. Enough said. :) These books are captivating, full of heart, excitement, and comic relief that can literally make you laugh out loud. Dean Koontz incorporates quotations of other writers and himself, that make you think about your own life, and even the path that all of us must take at some point... death. If you ever have the opportunity to read these books, I highly recommend them. The Odd Thomas book series is available on Amazon, and bookstores nationwide. Get your copy today. The order of the series is as follows: 1 - Odd Thomas 2 - Forever Odd 3 - Brother Odd 4 - Odd Hours 5 - Odd Apocalypse 6 - Deeply Odd There are also books in between these, but this is the main list of the most noted books, and the ones that are the most directly linked to the central story line. If anyone has read this series, please let me know what you thought of the series below in the comments. This page is all about communicating the books we love to each other, and helping to refer pieces of magic to other fans of literary works of art. Go ahead and tell me what you thought!!!
