ODM (Nyongo): President Kenyatta has been harbouring reservations against #Devolution It is now clear that President Uhuru Kenyatta has all along been harbouring strong reservations against devolution and an entrenched faith in authoritarian rule. Rather than wind down the Provincial Administration as constitutionally required he is creating a powerful structure of Presidential Authoritarianism in the counties. This development must not be allowed to succeed. It is tantamount to further increasing the wage bill, escalating constitutional crises and engendering unnecessary political tension in the country. The President should accept the will of the people for local self governance and concentrate on national duties like defence, foreign relations, implementing Vision 2030 and ensuring good constitutional governance.
