ODRE - Superintendent Anne M. Petit shared: Housing Finance Agency: OHFA announced plans to close the Save the Dream Ohio effort in the next year-and-a-half as 80% of the allocated funds for the program have been distributed to date. The $570.4 million program backed by the U.S. Department of Treasurys Hardest Hit Fund has helped 16,560 homeowners facing foreclosure thus far, according to the agency. Throughout the last four years, OHFA and its partners have worked with Treasury to implement and modify the Save the Dream Ohio program to address the states evolving needs and keep Ohio families in their homes, OHFA Executive Director Doug Garver said. Thanks to the outstanding efforts of housing counseling agencies across the state as well as more than 400 mortgage servicers, this program has made a swift and progressive impact on Ohios communities. With about $101 million remaining, OHFA estimates the program can aid another 6,400 homeowners. The agency therefore will not accept registrations after April 30. It will continue to process completed registrations until July 31.
