OGONI SELF-GOVERNMENT HAS COME TO STAY: According to Dr.Goodluck Diigbo,Self Government within Nigeria will secure for the Ogoni People,their indigenous rights,to enable them meet their needs and interests and finally end internal colonialism. The Ogoni Declaration for Self Government, was in line with the Ogoni Bill of right pressented to Nigeria in 1990. The Ogoni People non-violently demanded among other indigenous rights: POLITICAL AUTNOMY to participate in the affairs of the Republic as a distinct and separate indigenous Unit (By Whatever Name Called), provided that this autonomy guarantees; Political control of Ogoni affairs by Ogoni People.Economic control,adequate representation,and right to protection....as recognized under intertional law to which Nigeria is obligated. Which is inline with the United Nations Declartion on the right of indigenous people, adopted by the General Assembly Resolution 61/295 on 13 september 2007,which gives the right practice Self Government,OGONI is not an xception
