OH GOD OF AMAZING GRACE; I thank You and pray Thee to send a good Samerithan to Danjuma. Danjuma is a physically challenged fellow, a cripple to be precise who was dumped in a refuse heap by his uncle. I do not know why my family rejected me Danjuma lamented before journalists. Danjuma(25) has been on the refuse heap for over a month now, under heavy rain and scorching sun as he is being fed secretly by sympathetic neighbours. Speaking to a team of reporters on top of the refuse heap, Danjuma said his mother died in 2007 and he was told his father lives in Port Harcourt. Danjuma also told the reporters that he had his last meal of bread and bean cake(akara) on last monday night, that is on the 7th of this month. On why his uncle dumped him there, he said he didnt know saying that his aunt he was staying with after his mothers death told him he has no place in her house. A Director in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development who pleaded anonymity, said the government has no place for Danjuma to take refuge. Coordinator of Forum for Nigeria Women in Politics, Florence Igbinigie, who has been raising awareness on the plight of Danjuma, decried the slow response of the police and government officials to his plight. As am talking to you, Danjuma is still on the refuse heap. Having brought it to our notice, I wish to remind us that Danjuma was carried nine months like me and you by his mother but just that God wants to use him to test our Christianity. Our Holy Book warns us that if we give love to only those close to u,that we have not done enough. Is there any good Samerithan among us? Does his case touch you? Do you know that he is Christ in disguise? When Jesus was acussing us of insensitivity saying that when He was sick, that we did not show concern and when H e was hungry that we tourned deaf ears,do you know that it is Danjuma He was talking about? Why do you think that it is only government that should respond or intervene in his case? Are we still our brothers keepers? It is through that we all do not have the circumstances to take him out of refuse but our prayers can do wonders. If his case could touch me to the extent of kneeling down to pray for him and I am a reprobate sinner, what about you who know Jesus more than I do? Imagine yourself in his shoes. See the Nation Newspaper of wednesday, 9th June, 2014 page 11 to see where Christ is on top of refuse crying for our attention. May God hear our prayers for him and save us from such hurtful experience in Jesus name.Amen.
