OJUDE OBA FESTIVAL COMMITTEE FIXES OCTOBER 17 FOR ANNUAL CARNIVAL Barring any last minute change, the annual social cultural festival Ojude Oba, which has attracted the high and mighty in the society as well as foreign tourists all over the world, is scheduled to hold on Thursday, October 17, 2013. Chief Fassy Yusuf, a one-time Commissioner for Information in Ogun state made this known at an interactive session with journalists at the Heritage Hall of the ultra modern palace of the Awujale of Ijebuland few minutes ago. Ijebu News Xtra magazine also scooped that, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwa will be the Special Guest of Honour, while the Bayelsa state Governor, Hon Seriake Dickson has been named as the Chief Guest of Honour. Chief Yusuf added that Sen Ibikunle Amosun, will be the Chief Host, and will be ushering in the paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona to the epoch making occasion. The organizers of the carnival revealed further that the theme of the 2013 Ojude Oba event will be ACTUALIZING THE CREATION OF IJEBU STATE. This the group said was to drum up support for the creation of the overdue IJEBU STATE.
