OK - in response to questions - this is sort of pyrography-related as the braided rope frames are created by my husband, Jeff, to go round my pyrography pictures of sailing ships and seascapes. He uses wooden frames and covers each of the shapes with braids using natural fibres of different shades - sometimes up to 8 or 9 different braids per frame. These are attached using carpenters hot melt glue. The corners are mitred and then covered with an ocean plait - finishing off with one or two star knots on each. The attached photo is the first of our joint creations, Nelsons Victory. As we had not done one of these before it was rather large - 22 x 19!! Now we make em a bit smaller. Each frame is unique as Jeff has quite a range of different ones to use and never does the same combination twice.
