OK Chad Watson, Lacy Smith, Kip Kaiser, Troy Carroll and all of the rest of Alabama Damascus Steel, here is what I have been wanting to post. Lacy, if you want to remove this or need to I understand, I know this is a business sight. BUT here goes. As many of you know I am not in the best of health, I buried my mother Labor Day only 3 years after my father passed. The day after I buried my mother I had an appointment with my oncologist and was told I may have to start Chemo. in January for my Leukemia. I laugh and joke a lot! It is how my mind works and how I cope. I had reached a real low spot in my life and being a Christian I found myself on my knees on last Sunday night as my wife worked night shift. I was trying not to question the personal things in my life other than and including what I just mentioned but it was getting very hard. I was bought up that it was wrong to ask for signs when praying, is it? I do not really know. Anyway, things were looking so dim and dark but I turned off the television, and removed the telephone and in my bedroom I got down on my knees and started to give thanks for what I had, including my family and grand children, I found myself once or twice trying to question the Lord as to why this was happening but I tried to focus on the good things in my life and continued giving thanks and asking that I have the stamina and health to work enough to pay my bills. Ok, this is when it gets a little strange. Still feeling almost but knowing I wasnt forgotten the next day around lunch I stumbled on out to the mailbox and had a package in it, I figured it was just another ink pen or flash light with my old business name on it trying to sell them and bought it on in my house while reading other mail. Well, when I got to it, I opened it without even looking at the return address and the first thing I saw was a business card that said and I quote Troy said shut up now! and a little :) at the end of it. I turned it over and it had Kips business card on the other side. I felt something in the bag wrapped in bubble wrap and it was the biggest in a good way surprise I have had in a long long time! My wife came up from our basement and actually ask me what was wrong, I told her I was in shock, but again, in a happy way. My spirits were immediately lifted! No, material things never take the place of spiritual things BUT it was more about the two guys that put their heart and work into, it was about them both being Christians, it was about them caring enough to life my spirits when they were almost at an all time low! It was about two people I respect so very much thinking about me, Just an old Hillbilly that had only two things in common with either and both of them, that was loving my God and making knives! I am nowhere near their level of skill but I love it, people that share my strong beliefs, several states away, not even in the same state as each other reaching out to me in such a personal way. SO, I proudly introduce you to the knife my two dear friends in Jesus made with the sweat of their labor and love and sent me! Also my only custom made knife, as in the only one ever!!!!
