OK, Cocker folks—where are you? 5 year old Pujo lived with his family (including kids) for 5 years and finds himself in a cage at Manhattan ACC wondering where it all went wrong. His owners say he is housetrained and paper trained; that he’s lived with other dogs and been fine; that he hasn’t lived with cats and has mixed feelings about them; that he isn’t crazy about meeting new people. Well, did we say Cocker??? Are all you cocker people smiling? Have you heard this before. At 5 years old, Pujo certainly has many years to learn to polish his manners a bit but he’ll need someone who can read him and know how to handle fussy cockers. His behavioral eval showed that he guards his food and his rawhide—maybe he’s used to having to protect those at home. But on the rest of the items, including the dog on dog, Pujo pulled all 1’s and 2’s. But ACC has decided he needs to go and they’ve got Pujo on tomorrow’s euthanasia list and decided he can only get out if pulled by a New Hope Rescue. So tonight, Pujo needs that cocker person out there who knows that there’s a good boy in there who needs a bit of training to be the good dog he really wants to be. If that’s you, step up to foster or adopt and start applying to New Hope Rescues. But do it right now—tomorrow, Pujo will be gone forever still not understanding what he did that was so bad. https://facebook/photo.php?fbid=677782032234679&set=a.611290788883804.1073741851.152876678058553&type=3&theater
