OK. First things first. These r not the pretty to look at. But but but. Lets put them in context. Being designated driver to attend marriage ceremony, I landed up in Bhavnagar. Ceremony is organized in a modest space with traditional maharaj cooking food right in open. As usual I had my doubts and I was in full mood to skip dinner. Also the way it looked and served didnt tickle my taste buds either. But, I havent being so wrong in my life before. This was the best marriage food I had in years. Ive had food from the best caterers in ahmedabad and I was disappointed every time. But not this time. The kadi was hot and just perfect in sweetness and right spices. The masala bhindi would put even the best hotels to shame and all the Gujarati thali restaurants need to learn how to make aamras the way it was here. I didnt try the masala aloo as it seemed too much masala and oil. I dont remember the last tine I wiped clean my plate for any caterer food. Simplicity rules :)
