OK. I have long been pissed about TV commercials for health remedies best discussed between you and your doctor. Erections lasting more than four hours. Flatulence with substance. Ask you doctor this. Ask your doctor that. Ask your doctor about yet another drug whose name has been blind-tested on focus group to see which one gets peoples juices flowing. Viva Viagra, for gods sake. If I should actually and literally heed the advice proffered each night by Big Farma, I would be on the phone every day plaguing Dr. Edney to tell be all about the drug-du-jour. Just to stay informed, you know... Could I not trust him to know about what medicines are indicated if I am in need? What are seven or eight years of medical education worth, folks? The latest and provoking incident is a sales pitch on NBC telling me to ask my doctor about some vaginal cream designed to prevent or assuage I dont know what... Common Sense Moment. Friends, your doctor has a doctorate. Is your doctor because you trust her/him. Reads the literature. Attends who knows how many seminars a year. Is called upon by dozens of Big Farma reps touting their latest path to riches. Can be relied on to know what medicines might be appropriate for whatever condition you may tell her/him about in private. MUST you and I continue in docile fashion to endure this crap? Just asking. If you agree, dont accept a scrip for anything that you have seen touted on the idiot box.
