OK, I have watched the controversial call on the Dez Bryant play in the Cowboys-Packers game about 15 times now. While it was one hell of an effort, it was NOT - under the rules as they currently stand - a catch. The explanation given to Howie Long in the post-game interviews by referee head Mike Pereira is excellent. It is not a catch if the ball comes out upon contact with the ground as a receiver is falling down. It is of no consequence that he took three steps since those steps occurred AS HE WAS FALLING DOWN. The replay refs got it right whether the Cowboys and their fans like it or not.
