OK, I was given the number 12 by my daughter. So here we go: 1. My farm is an Animal Rescue Sanctuary, complete with 40+ horses, donkeys, dogs, and cats – too many to name them all here – and anything else that finds its way down the driveway. Even though they are “wild,” such creatures as Freddie the Fox, Paul the Possum, Regret the Egret, Ricky the Raccoon, and Willow the Armadillo can be seen amongst the deer, wild turkeys, Canadian Geese and brown ducks that call our sanctuary in Georgia their home. 2. In 1999 I started a weekly publication called The Penny Pincher, which covers 14 counties. I sold my interests in it in 2005, but it lives on today. 3. I am a writer, with stories published in Chicken Soup for the Soul, Country Magazine, Country Extra magazine, The Brayer, and Simply Southern. 4. I love my family dearly, even the crazy ones. 5. Aside from working with my rescued animals, I enjoy a quiet corner nook for reading (or sleeping, whichever happens first!). I disdain animal abusers. 6. I am claustrophobic and I am a “counter.” 7. I prefer white bread over whole wheat. 8. I love Western movies. Tombstone and Lonesome Dove rate very high with me. I’d live in Sedona, AZ, in a heartbeat. 9. I’d rather be trail riding or poop-scooping than shopping. In fact, most of my shopping is done online. 10. I am the youngest of 5 kids and the only girl. My four older brothers and I were and are very close. Larry, the oldest, passed away in 1988, and Ralph, the 3rd oldest, died in April of 2013. 11. My dearest and oldest friend from childhood, Peggy C. Reynolds, and I saw each other for the first time in 30+ years in June of 2012. We shared some great memories and picked up where we left off all those years ago. 12. I like all kinds of music but am partial to 1960s rock and roll, Southern Gospel, and Bluegrass. Alison Krauss is OK in my book. 13. (I’m adding one more just to say this list sounds like a profile for one of those dating sites advertised on TV! LOL!)
