OK, JP A Bilbao tagged me for the 15 memorable movies challenge. The rules: dont think too long. 15 films youve seen that will always stick with you. List the first 15 you can recall in no more than 15 mins. Tag 15 friends, including me, because Im interested in seeing what films my friends choose. However, because Im a fuddy duddy (I think weve already established that.) what Im going to do is give you a bit of a rundown on why each movie stuck with me. 1. Captain Blood--love me some Errol Flynn up in the rigging of a pirate ship. Or dueling. Im easy. 2. Casablanca - Rick might think he didnt know anything about being noble, but we knew better. 3. The Invasion of the Body Snatchers (original)- scared me even more when I learned Miless warning YOURE NEXT was the actual ending to the movie. 4. Them! - Giant ants in the storm drains of LA. Can it get any better? 5. Target Earth - okay, the alien was hokey, but being in a deserted city and not knowing why it was deserted? Yeah, pretty scary, and a number of movies have picked up on that theme. 6. World Without End - Okay, who wouldnt like the opportunity to travel 500 years into the future to see what man has gotten up to in the meantime? 7. The Thing from Another World (also original) I first saw bits of this in the late 50s/early 60s, but it scared me so much I couldnt sit down and watch the whole thing until I was in my 20s. 8. Twelve Angry Men - Excellent ensemble cast. If Im ever charged with murder, I hope theres a Henry Fonda-like juror at the trial. 9. No Way to Treat a Lady - The way George Segal kissed Lee Remick... okay, I was into het back them, but it was still hot. 10. Jaws - the summer of 75. My sister and I saw that movie almost every other weeknd. 11. Halloween (another original) - This scared me so badly (taking into consideration I was in my late 20s when I saw it) I couldnt go into the basement by myself.
