OK fellow MTBers: on a ride today I was given a talking to by a dude from the City. I was told that we were to NOT ride on illegal trails, only sanctioned trails. So consider this me passing on the message to as many local riders as I can...also, since I have no idea what the difference between a sanctioned trail and a non-sanctioned trail is, this advice is probably of very little help!! He admitted to covering trails with broken branches/sticks etc. I will approach the City about this, wether or not we are allowed to use these trails is one thing - deliberately placing obstacles that could damage bikes or riders is not OK in my opinion! Having said that - please do not cut back existing bush to create new trails - lets wait to see where the Citys trail hub report takes us (due in a couple of weeks I believe).
