OK, folks, so heres where we stand as of today: My plan was to leave Thursday afternoon, you might recall. Well, heres what happens when you plan: Thursday mid-morning, I get a phone call from my recruiter at RHT, asking if I could do a phone interview with a tech company here in town. Sure, I say. So - 1pm. Sure. Im good. While Im on the phone with the manager at said tech company, I get an email regarding another position Id applied for with the Frist Center (IT department), asking if I could do an interview Friday morning at 9:30). I reply to said email and say, sure, I can do that. An hour later, I get a call back saying that the guy from the phone interview wants me to start monday, and is it possible for me to stick around and deal with all the pre-employment screening stuff? I say, well - I need to notify the next of kin and plan for it, but if they want me that badly, sure. Ill make it happen. Next day, go to the Frist Center first thing in the morning, have a great interview, followed by a tour and hang time with the CIO, and left with a great feeling about the place. Go home, and have ANOTHER email, asking if I can do ANOTHER phone interview with a THIRD company at noon. At this point, I feel like Im humoring people, but I agree to the interview...and it turns out this is a great opportunity as well...working for a medical imaging company. Now, outside all this activity, a friend of mine who lives in town for some years now forwards my resume to HIS company, where theres going to be a vacancy late this year due to a retiring employee, and thatd be a cool opportunity as well. I also got a call from someone whod seen my resume on the internet and wanted to offer me a gig in Conshohocken. Ill let you guess what i told them. :) so I guess ill actually have something to put on the application now, since i think its safe to actually start looking in earnest for a place to live. AND...on that front, something promising has come up as well...but ill have to leave you with a to be continued on that subject.
