OK folks, we have been sending Doctors, Nurses and other care workers to Africa for 6 months. Hundreds have returned here from there, without quarantine and guess what? Not a single one of them transmitted the disease! 1 Person came back, evaded the issue of where he had been, and then was turned away from a hospital. This is the only person who has died here. He is also the only person who spread it here. Mainly due to improper preparations and training in the hospital. Suddenly, because some news casters got a hair across their ass, that we should be having a quarantine, everyone is all up in arms about the idea. Well, how about we look at the science? Lots of studies have been done, and they all say the same thing. Dont quarantine! The disease is not communicable until symptoms show. So, by all means, keep track of fatigue levels and body temperature. In the unlikely case that something shows with one of those, THEN get the person to the hospital and into isolation. Quarantining people coming home will accomplish exactly 2 things First, people will start lying about where they have been, and finding ways to sneak past our security. Then when one of them does get sick, that person will be afraid to report to a hospital.. Result: Spread the disease. Second, our Doctors and Nurses will stop going to fight the disease because of the major hassle theyll get when they get home. Result: disease spreads faster and further, and becomes a world wide epidemic. Please stop listening to the fear mongering! Read what the CDC has said. Read what the WHO has said. Read what epidemiologists like the head of the World Bank have said. Get the FACTS not the hype!
