OK guys here is how to become a registered farmer with the Ministry of Food Production : 1. You must have authorization on land. this means that you can either have private land in your name or permission to cultivate land for a minimum of 5 yrs from the owner, state leases, or state land statuses. 2. You must have the last land tax payment receipt for private, rented, or authorized land. In the case of state leases you must have any receipt where payment was made as a rent. private property land tax receipt 2009. 3. 2 passport sized pictures and picture ids. 4. Visit the Agricultural Office near you or in your District, for example all living in Central can visit County Caroni Office at Chase Village, North citizens can visit North Region Office at Farm Road St Joseph, east citizens can visit office at Sangre Grande, South persons have a South office, and similar in Tobago. There you can speak with the staff of these offices and let them know you would like to register as a farmer. 5. After registration, a Farmers Identification will be issued on the basis that the officers in charge of your area comes to a site visit on you establishment to verify that you are legally cultivating the said land. this normally takes 6-10weeks. 6. When you collect your Farmers Identification Card, you are now a registered Farmer of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and can access all incentives once you meet the criteria and requirements for each incentive. 7. Receipts are valid for 12months so if you bought input of agriculture that qualify for subsidies please hold on to your receipts and make sure all information is eligible so that you can claim your returns when your card is issued. 8.
