OK happiness...it may be a dreary day on the outside but lots of to do on the inside: Wash and fold clothes (went to the basement to carry down clothes late last night and found a treasure trove of Matts baby pictures - even his not for prime time actual birth pics, baptism and holiday pics with the cousins and fam - lots with Den and the two kids and Grammy and Grampy too - obviously didnt get to the laundry or bed until late); Go through mail that is again piling up ( I have determined from the amount I am now getting in his name alone that Den would get to the mail first and hide his away to buy stuff or contribute. Now Matt Matthew William is getting a ton of solicitations - they must know he has a job); Begin the thanks or not ( sorry but it is still too hard to write them. Today I couldnt even go to church - thoughts about how difficult it was last week just was too much to bear this week. That apparently is part of the grieving process and will have to wean my way); Throw away old shoes and rummage through purses / handbags (that seems reasonable enough) and spruce up the kitchen. (Right!) Now to construction status: Decided I needed skylights for fresh sunlight in the new sunroom as it was seeming too dark which also darkened the family room - so voila! (I am fixated on sunlight and fresh air.) Obvioudly I have entirely too much time to think and not as much get up and go! - HGTV has me captivated on the Property Brothers (marathon yesterday) and Love it or List it. Too bad my house is not conducive to the open concept or I would eliminate all the downstairs walls! Good or not so good news - ETA for the new family room sectional - week of Aug. 5th. (Now where to ditch the red sofa...); Walk and exercise: Sam and I are getting plenty - yesterday I almost lost my pants (guess that can be good or bad) and we took a car ride to Petco to get his argyle harness (dapper) and stop at Wendys drive thru for a salad for me and a little ice cream in a cup for him! (Good thing I have two cup holders in the front). We see lots of folks on the walks and waves - Robin T. Nelson was walking Kepler and Bob Nelson and Cedar Nelson were running; Brian Schwenk (aka Carol Schwenk s oldest son) stopped his car and related his continuing house buying saga - all I could do was laugh (good for me not so good for him!); The neck: 6 weeks of stiff neck, tight muscles, and pain. Currently stress diagnosis (just in case, working on getting taller chair or lower computer desk at work so I can actually see my screen without tipping my head way back to see out of the right part of my lenses). Prescribed meds dont help - best is good ole generic ibuprofen. I picked up this Dr. Ho neck gear to try - and a standby moisture heating pad if that fails. Dining: Alice Carter and I had lunch at a new Mystic restaurant - R36 - on Friday. Great place on the water and loved my lobster roll. Ran into Sue Campbell McConnell there too. Earlier in the week went to a great leadership conference at the Old Saybrook Inn with Julia Parker Cronin and Stephanie Calhoun - great dinner besides! Love the coast.Tip of the week: It is difficult to dine out alone for me - invite me but dont think that means you pay. I am employed and I can use the company! Yall have a good week!
