OK, here is a question for hockey folks out there. I grew up in Minnesota and loved going to and watching hockey games. The hockey playoffs are exciting and great to watch, because there is very little fighting. However, I just get disgusted and watch little or no hockey during the regular season, because fighting seems to be so much a part of the game. I know hockey is a rough sport, but it is no excuse for allowing and even encouraging fighting. The game itself is exciting enough. No other professional sport allows fighting and enforces that by imposing stiff penalties and/or fines, even though other sports are also rough. Can anyone tell me WHY pro hockey cannot also prohibit fighting and poor sportsmanship by imposing appropriate penalties and fines????????
