OK, so I never really took the whole full moon makes people do weird stuff thing to heart - then I worked in HR and had a colleague who would always let me know every month when the full moon was happening. Sure enough, even when she didnt say anything, you could just feel the vibe in the hotel work environment. We had 1800 FTEs at the time and I was #2 in the HR department down in Orlando. It seemed like they would all lose their collective minds at the same time!! Wed have fights, harassment claims and stacks of write ups and termination recommendations show up on my desk all at the same time! Thats the kinda week Im having yesterday/today. I had a wonderful, organized day planned yesterday where I was going to pack first thing in the morning to get that out of the way, I had some shopping I needed to do, a couple of errands to run before going out of town for work and to visit my mom and step dad on the west coast for a week. I needed to get dinner done and go out to my singing class before heading to bed EARLY!! As I was getting ready to pack, I turned on my laptop to find it wouldnt boot up! Knowing I needed it to work for work this week (kind of hard to do PowerPoint without it), I realized I needed to make a beeline to the laptop doc post haste!! Thankfully, they were able to work their magic on it quickly and I headed back home within 30 minutes. I got 3/4 of the way back only to find I couldnt find my cell phone which I remembered taking out while at the shop. After looking around the car, in my bag and briefcase I didnt find it. Back to ATL I went (about 30 minutes from where I was at the time) and not a happy camper. Problem was, they didnt have it either! I walk back to my car, walk around to the passengers side to find it had slipped precariously under a place that I couldnt easily see and it was there all the time!! :-( (Has the word pissedocity made it into the Websters update yet? It needs to be there if its not!!) Quincey came home talking about not one but two fights had broken out yesterday at school, then today he called me to say there was another one. Oh, and someone also stole his Nike sneakers (I wont put a dollar sign on this b/c its gauche in my opinion, but I did name drop for a reason; these werent Keds!! Mamas not a happy camper again). This was after I fell on an escalator while trying to look for something instead of paying attention (I didnt injure anything except my pride this time) and after spilling reddish-brown chipotle sauce on my clothing, including a new blouse I was wearing, on my briefcase and IN my purse! I topped this day off by losing my Amex Card in the airport in Oakland (yes, its cancelled and fortunately, I had another one on me so I could actually check into the hotel I forgot to book until I was on my way there in a cab!!! WHEW!!! Im thankful I made it here safely but this has truly been a full moon in full effect for me. Tomorrow is a blood moon... I should probably just stay in bed and not come out just to be safe!!! Sadly, I think my class participants might be a bit ticked off if I do that though!! LOL. Have a wonderful Wednesday and dont forget to go look at the moon when you get a chance... And for heavens sake, please BE CAREFUL (and whisper a prayer for me too while youre at it!!)
