OK, so ??? windows??? just called me and said that every time I access the internet and my email I am downloading tons of viruses. They said that I needed to let them remote access my computer to fix the issue. They said they had to turn off my microsoft for windows 7? Or something like that. I told them I would take it in to get fixed, but NO, windows must do it because they can see the issue as they have my computer id numbers and everything. I said no thank you, I would deal with it on my own... they were very persistent about nobody else can fix this. I had to tell them no like 10 times and still he did not give up. I finally said he would need to talk to my husband and they said they would call back at 7. I didnt know what else to do, as what if its a real thing. BUT, when I said, Ok, so if I call Microsoft myself they can help me, they said no this is windows, not microsoft. I am a bit spooked... is this a possible real thing, or did I just have some sicko trying to get info off my computer? I cant even remember if he called me by name? Just the main windows user in the home. I have AVG on my puter. Should I download Nortons again? Its spendy but likely a better protector. I am going to go research in case they call back to argue with Don.
