OK...weve all seen the stories about miscreants causing problems on various airlines because (boo hoo hoo) the person in the seat ahead of them has the unmitigated temerity to recline their seat....which crushes your laptop into your unprotected abdomen. Weve also heard stories about passengers purchasing knee defenders to prevent the passenger ahead of them from reclining their seat...and the equally unpleasant consequences. A common thread to all of these stories seems to blame the passengers for expressing their anger on the sardinecraft and a rallying cry to sue the bastards. Hell...why not just toss them off the aircraft in mid air...or tie them up and boil them in oil after the plane lands? So heres the thing. If these trouble makers really needed more room...why didnt they lay down an extra thousand dollars for a first class seat...like the good citizens who did. Why should these good citizens be inconvenienced by people who havent learned the duties and responsibilities of their class? I understand that the economy class (no caps) seats are squeezed together in a sardine-like fashion...but we should also understand that the airlines had to do this in order to maximize their profits while adding more room for First Class passengers. Some of you may cry foul at this unequal opportunity...and others will no doubt rise from their leather recliners in anger to claim that everyone has the same opportunity to lay down a boatload of cash for First Class seats.
