OKOWA 2015 GUBER-DELTANS IN AUSTRIA DRUMS MASSIVE SUPPORT. It was all about Okowa during an interactive session held at Vienna Austria on. 15th March,2014. There was no other name that the people were ready to hear apart from the name Okowa as they said he has impacted lives both home and abroad through his humane disposition,leadership experience,charisma and expertise. They described him as a political enigma that has long being awaited to pilot the affairs of our dear Delta State. The interactive session which commenced at 2pm and ended at 7.30pm was attended by not less than 80 Deltans within Vienna-Austria with all chanting the Okowability slogan. The aim and mission of Detans Diaspora as a group established to mobilise Deltans and then promote and propagate the person of distinguished Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa was addressed by Dantes Odogwu. Moving forward,the credentials of the man Okowa was reeled out spanning from his birth through his academic life to medical practice,philanthropic and political endeavours. His antecedents spoke volume likewise his present score that covers his empowerment schemes,employment offers, projects influenced and political affluence deriving from his brilliant performance so far at the Senate that earned him the Senate committee Chairman on Health even as a first timer and one of the most outstanding five(5) Senators in the National assembly. Expectations from him as to a new Delta under him from 2015 by the special grace of the almighty God were also addressed as below. To some,he has really performed excellently;while to many,the best is yet to come. The expectations of a new Delta as to infra-structural and human capital development topped the agenda. They said though the past and present govt have tried within their reach to cause and catalyse development;but that a lot still needs to be done especially in our decaying hospitals/health care centres,deplorable roads,agriculture, water,electricity and security. They also reiterated on the need to turning Delta State into an industrial and tourism hub especially now that we have international cargo airport and likely sea port that will soon commence operations at the Delta/Anambra boundaries of the River Niger. The need to create employment for the unemployed graduate class and empowerment for the youths and helpless were also addressed. Offering of scholarships to deserving indigenes were also stressed upon. They congratulated the distinguished senator Ifeanyi Okowa on the passage of the National Health Insurance Bill stating that it takes a man that has the feelings of his people at heart to initiate such,as this will enable the common man gain access to health care services at little or no cost.
