OMEP – Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership will be beginning a series of classes on January 23rd. The cost is 750 dollars, and a scholarship opportunity is available through the registration link below. The class itinerary is listed below: January 23, 2015: Lean Fundamentals - This half-day class introduces employees to principles underlying the Lean Enterprise with emphasis on differentiating between value add and non-value add activities and the identification and elimination of waste in a value stream. February 6, 2015: Lean Start-Up - This session will assist your company in identifying the greatest opportunities while avoiding the pitfall of sub optimization of one area, process or department. Participants will learn to create both ‘current state’ and ‘future state’ value stream maps through hands-on experience and identification of improvement projects. February 27, 2015: Tools of Lean - This course focuses on some of the more predominantly used tools for smaller manufacturers in a variety of environments (high/low mix, high/low volume). March 20, 2015: Lean Culture - Topics covered in this session include: Human performance management, effective leadership behaviors, creating and sustaining a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and sustaining high performance.
