OMG. yes. No matter how firmly I try to persuade Azucena, she was just born a pink fairy princess....at least now we can talk about things that come up. When she says things like thats for boys or girls dont do that I can ask her why and suggest alternatives. Likewise, when she exhibits behaviors that society tends to accept as okay for boys (screaming, running, rough housing, etc.) I try not to discourage her unless its inappropriate (ie. were in the library). And my kids have lots of unstructured play time. in the dirt.
