ON EVERY WISH LIST? December 17 Galatians 1:3-5 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever, Amen. What are you wishing for others to receive? Are you wishing for others to be blessed or wishing to see others get what they deserve? Paul is quite opposite of the man he once was. He once thought of himself as the enforcer of the law. Not only did he want others to get what they deserved, he would help see that they received the judgment they had coming to them. But that changed the day he met the resurrected Jesus on his way to Damascus. (Acts 9) After having received grace and peace from the Lord, he wished to impart blessings on others as he had received. That is, he wished to see God’s favor, grace and peace be upon other people’s lives. He went from wanting to see others get what they deserve to seeing God bless them in spite of what they deserved. He wished for others to have peace with God and to be at peace with themselves and others. A peace he never had until he met Jesus and received Him as his Lord and Savior. It was in this spirit of the grace and peace he had that he wished for others to have as well. What are you wishing for others this Christmas season? What are you wishing for your church and family and friends? I wish for you the grace and peace of the Christ of Christmas. That should be on every wish list for Christmas. Grace and peace to you. Amen. Rev. Lewis Forsythe
