ON NATIONAL BROADCASTING [The Sorry Case of the Unfolding Tragedy at ZNBC]: In the strongest terms, we condemn the repeated invasion of the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation [ZNBC] by uncouth Patriotic Front [Zambias ruling party members] members who through force want this public station to reflect their opinions only. We wish to remind them that ZNBC is not a PF institution. ZNBC belongs to all Zambians. It is a public broadcasting station. The perennial harassment of professionals at ZNBC by the PF must cease forthwith. For example, we are aware of the recent directive made by one PF camp to Mr Robert Mwanza, the managing dirctor of ZNBC, that coverage must not be given to the UPND [United Party for National Development headed by Mr Hakainde Hichilema] and the Miles Sampa camp from now to polling day on 20 January 2015. We urge Mr Mwanza and his staff to be impartial, nonpartisan and professional in his work. All Zambians are behind him. Governments come and go. ZNBC remains. We all must support ZNBC. It is a vital tool for national unity and development. ZNBC is for all Zambians. It does NOT belong to the PF. We call upon all Zambians to come to the defence of this key national installation, Mr Mwanza and his beleaguered members of staff. Abash abuse of public resources and facilities! Abash intimidation of journalists be it at ZNBC, Zambia Daily Mail, Times of Zambia or wherever they are! Zambia shall be free someday! God decrees! Zambia shall go forward! Aluta continua!
