Case in point: DETROIT (AP) — A judge has sentenced a young man to six months in jail for a mob attack on a Detroit-area motorist after telling the 19-year-old that his father should have beat the hell out of him to discourage him from committing crimes. Judge James Callahans remarks occurred Thursday when Latrez Cummings said his father wasnt around when he was growing up. Cummings and four others have pleaded guilty to assaulting Steve Utash, who was in a coma for days after the April 2 attack. Cummings was the last to be sentenced. The judge told Cummings that he needed a father or someone to discipline you. Someone to beat the hell out of you when you made a mistake. SO IS THE JUDGE RIGHT AND DOES A GOOD BEATING ASSIST IN CREATING AND RAISING A SUCCESSFUL PERSON - OR IS TIME OUT REALLY THE KEY??? hehehe
