ONE FOOT IN MY MOUTH 14/3/14 No 28 Editorial:- Sad day, Tony Benn has died. Now when I was young and I was, I was in the Labour party, working for them as a part time secretary for a Norwich City ward. Got to meet quite a few MPs and such. I`m talking of the late 50s - early 60s. Then I got a bit wiser. However that man did have an effect on so many things, Concorde etc. I put him among people such as, Patrick Moore and David Attenborough, eccentrics, British through and through and proud of it. And we should be proud that we live in a country that produce their like. Around The World:- I find it strange that there are debates about what is great art and what is not. I`ve tried to keep this whole thing light, as in, not serious. However an article in `The Times`, discussing Turners works of art, mentioned how experts `were in 1847 arguing over whether some of his later works were, what they called not the madness of genius [but] the folly and imbecility of old age. And they are still at it. I think these so called experts ( also known as farts under pressure ) should just let us enjoy, or not, and they should get a life. An Evangelical Christian told the story of a revivalist meeting that was held up North , to which the mayor and corporation were invited. When they did not appear at the appointed time, it was decided that the congregation should launch into the opening hymn; whereupon the dignitaries, led by the mayor, duly appeared, and processed down the aisle to the lusty voices of the congregation singing, See the Mighty hosts Advancing , Satan at Their Head. I suppose you had to be there.
