ONE QUESTION I WOULD LOVE TO ASK ANY PERSON RUNNING FOR PUBLIC OFFICE IN 2016 HAVE YOU YOURSELF EVER FIXED ANYTHING THAT WAS BROKEN? LIKE AN ENGINE, OR A WATCH, OR EVEN A TOASTER. People think governance is about good ideas to fix a broken system. But the reality is, the good idea is merely a FRACTION of the solution. Fixing something, requires not brilliance, but a methodical mind. What does it do? Who was it made for? How was it designed to be used? What sequence to take it apart? What tools and skills you will need? And what sequence to put it back together? Also just as important is the attitude you have when the project hits a road block or ends up unfixable.. Many wannabe pols and technocrats can make mando till the cows come home but how many have the chops to shove their minions aside when the minions start screwing up? On a side note, everyone should send their kids to an automotive repair course. From physics to math to process management to intuitive thinking, I promise you the things they learn while getting their hands dirty will help them all the rest of their lives.
