March 27, 2013 could never be forgotten among NSCDC officers in lagos, on that faithful day two officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) confirmed dead; and five others injured, in an attack reportedly by police officers on early hour of Wednesday March 27, 2013 in Lagos. The two officers, identified as Gabriel Adaji and Innocent Akegbe, were returning from Ikorodu, where they and their colleagues had arrested some pipeline vandals when gunmen clad in police uniforms opened fire on them. President Goodluck Jonathan directed the Department of State Security, DSS, to investigate Wednesday’s clash between the Police and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Ikorodu area of Lagos, which resulted in the death of two NSCDC personnel, but One year later no report or decision has been taken on the matter. Therefore, investigation revealed that some Police officers always making reference to matter of lagos anytime they have encounter with other security agencies, threating that they can kill anyone and nothing will come out of it. Our source gave account of expectation of the both family of decease Gabriel Adaji and Innocent Akegbe when he visited the family recently, they are still hopeful that President Goodluck Jonathan will do justice to the death of their heroes soon.
