OOPS! I posted my super big announcement on Adoras wall instead of mine, so Im reposting this. You can untag yourself if its too much clutter on your wall. Please like, comment and share as if I didnt already post this elsewhere :) I have a major announcement to make: What a lot of you dont realize is that way before I was a DJ, I was a producer of electronic music in all forms. From about 1999 to 2005 I produced many tracks, but that final year was when Katrina hit New Orleans. Ironically, that was when I was offered my first record deal, however, I had to turn it down since I was a single dad and had no one to take care of Lil Maven while I was on the road. I turned down a rockstars life in favor of stability of my child. While Im not in any way bitter about it, I always wondered what if.... In 2010, as many of you do know, I started DJing. This was not supposed to be this big part if my life and career. That was also the year I started dating Adora, who added not only stability and love to my life, but she, for all intensive purposes, became my biggest support system to not be content with what I currently had and pushed me to be bigger, better and more driven to take what I was doing further. So heres where this is going... I have made the decision to go back into producing music. For the next several months, I will be learning all the new software for production and incorporating it into my live DJ acts. This is the next phase of my career. I want to thank everyone who has supported my thus far, I couldnt have gotten here without you! This is the short list of people to thank for my decision: Pablo Zaldivar, an old friend and colleague who remembers when I was a producer and encouraging me to start doing so again. Matt Aka-psi for always being an inspiration to me musically as well as a big supporter of my music. Bennie Johnson for being my first, and still to this day, most enthusiastic fan. I need like 100,000 more just like you Kris Hexfor being the only promoter in the dark underground scene without a bone of shadiness and an all around stand up guy Logan South and Daley Catherine for pushing me in a positive way to go back into a leadership role and NOT telling me to change who I am as well as always supporting my shows and career unconditionally. Lady Gia Bathory for coming back into my life and kicking some ass with Bad Things Jessica, Namon, and Amanda for being so supportive in literally everything. Tarik Rêver, because loyalty, friendship and family are everything to me and you personify that in our friendship. Brandon Barré for helping me get back the music production game. Swampy Swampster (Dj DJ SWAMP) for the encouragement in the past, an inspiration for wanting to be a turntablist and showing me that one man can do it all! LordChaz Howell and Alexander Addams for always MCing my shows and teaching me the value of showmanship. Craig Wyldchile Jacomine for forgetting his DJ equipment at my house enough times that I started actually using it and set me back on the music path and encouraging my progress! Philip DeFranco, even though he doesnt know me from a hole in the wall, his youtube broadcasts have always inspired me, educated me, helped mold ideas and direction as well as pushed the idea that one man, no matter how humble their beginnings, can rise to the top on their own terms. Congratulations to you with your engagement and upcoming child! Im sure Im forgetting a few people, but my memory sucks these days and I apologize. Either way. good things to come and thanks for everyones love and support! — feeling inspired.
