OOPs Forgot my e Mail, so posting the whole again:- Dear Mr Blechschmidt, You are correct that Devon County Council considered part of the Brunel Road Industrial Estate at Newton Abbot for an energy recovery facility (not specifically an incinerator) in an earlier stage of developing our Waste Plan, but omitted this from the Preferred Strategy version of the Plan due in part to the relationship with housing. The land at Brunel Road was not a specific site but an area of search covering 8.7 hectares within which a waste facility could potentially be located. There is a group of houses within the area of search, as well as further housing close to some of its boundaries, with the closest houses being 45 metres away. However, only part of the area of search would have been required for a waste facility, so the separation of facility and housing may have been greater if the proposal had been pursued. Please let me know if you require any further information. There is currently a planning application for a Biomass incinerator in Ernesettle Plymouth and the houses are only 30 meters from the boundary of the proposed site, so any information you could provide may help our cause in trying to stop this. Yours Hopefully Mr Steve Blechschmidt 30 Redhill Close Ernesettle Plymouth Devon PL5 2RT
