OPEN LETTER TO UN SECRETARY GENERAL The UN Secretary-General, United Nations. Sir, The Significance of Those Two Maps On May 20, 2010 La Republique du Cameroun celebrated its 50th anniversary of independence. The President of the 64th General Assembly of the United Nations, Ali Triki handed president Paul Biya of Cameroun two gifts infront of national and international cameras: - A large framed map of La Republique du Cameroon (LRC) with an international boundary (in red) separating LRC and the Southern Cameroons; - and a map of the British Cameroons, with an international boundary separating the Southern Cameroons and Northern Cameroons. While handing this, Mr. Ali Triki declared, “Voici les cartes de Cameroon Britannique … histoire en a decidee (Here are the maps of British Cameroons…history had so decided..” A good number of us at this corner of the globe have been pondering for three years now. We await in anticipation as your good office clears the air. I humbly serve you, Akoson A. Raymond, Buea. akosonako@yahoo 00237 78 35 80 29
