OPERATION WAR ON WASTE AND PLUNDER-KERICHO COUNTY As I said earlier, ALL The County Government of Kericho CECs and Chief Officers as well as most Sub-County Administrators, including the Assembly are non-performers, a total disgrace and a total let down devoid of any agenda for this County except wastage and plunder. To date none of the above institutions have anything tangible to show case apart from wanton wastage of public resources in form of fuel, etc, etc. As citizens of this County we have discussed this state of affairs at various fora and we will from now use certain provisions of the the constitution to correct the appalling state of affairs within the County. We have the backing and blessing of various government Agencies in this crusade. Nepotism is rife and it looks like certain officers are manipulating things either to undermine the Governor or with a long term political and ulterior motive(s)! How could over 7 senior officers come from one village while many of them are related one way or the other! What message are these officers sending to the citizens of this County? We will shortly be demanding tabulation of:- 1. All the Senior staff vehicles, Officer by officer, detailing the registration numbers, officer assigned, fuel consumed month by month,repairs, drivers overtime, accidents if any, where and why? We will need the total figure in Millions of Kenya shillings for all these vehicles to date. 2. We will want the County Secretary to tell us also why the vehicles are being used by the officers outside the official working hours and during the weekends and shopping in supper Markets? This is misuse and impunity. Government vehicles cannot be personalized! 3. Tenders. Photographs of all the rods are almost complete and we will demand tabulation of the names of tender committee, all contractors who have won tenders so far, including all the attendant details. 4. Lunches, snacks, Tea and meals. Anybody employed in any government institution has a lunch break and should not be at the cost of the tax payer. We would be demanding to know how these were authorized to allow people eat in hotels at the expense of the The County!
