ORDER PAPER - WEDNESDAY 20TH NOVEMBER, 2013 QUESTIONS 1. MR. O. MOTLHALE, MP. (SOUTH EAST SOUTH): To ask the Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism:- (i) whether the way the Plastic Levy is currently being implemented is in line with the original objective; and (ii) how much money was collected by Government from retailers annually since the inception of the Levy and what this money is being used for. 2. MR. B. ARONE, MP. (OKAVANGO): To ask the Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism:- (i) to state the number of tourist sites that have been identified in the Ramsar sites; and (ii) how they will be allocated. 3. MR. W. B. MMOLOTSI, MP. (FRANCISTOWN SOUTH): To ask the Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration whether the retirement package for Vice Presidents includes an official car and staff; if so:- (i) where is it stipulated in the Law; and (ii) whether such a vehicle can also be used for political activities. 4. MR. T. G. HABANO, MP. (NGAMI): To ask the Minister of Transport and Communications:- (i) whether he is aware of the current state of the following gravel roads: (a) Phathane-Kareng; (b) Kareng-Tsau; (c) Toteng-Bodibeng; (d) Nokaneng-Qangwa/Xai-xai; (e) Magopa-Border Post (Dobe); and (ii) to state short and long term plans to assist the residents and other members of the public to access these settlements before the roads are damaged by the first rains. 5. MR. K. S. RAMMIDI, MP. (KANYE NORTH): To ask the Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration if he is aware that almost all backyard gardens in Kanye have failed due to water shortages; if so, will beneficiaries of these failed backyard gardens be considered for alternative packages. 6. MR. O. MOTLHALE, MP. (SOUTH EAST SOUTH): To ask the Minister of Trade and Industry if she is aware that the operating hours for most businesses/service centers such as hair salons, and others are not conducive for the working public because they end up having to sneak off work to access such services; if so, will she consider adjusting the operating hours such that service providers will close late in the evening. 7. MR. B. ARONE, MP. (OKAVANGO): To ask the Minister of Labour and Home Affairs:- (i) why the Gender Affairs Department in Maun is serviced by only two officers; and (ii) how they are expected to achieve their departmental goals in view of the vastness and bad terrain of the region. 8. MR. W. B. MMOLOTSI, MP. (FRANCISTOWN SOUTH): To ask the Minister of Youth, Sport and Culture:- (i) why it takes long for teams in the Constituency Tournaments and groups in the Arts and Music competitions to be paid after competing; and (ii) whether he is aware that such delays contribute to splits and indebtedness. 9. MR. K. S. RAMMIDI, MP. (KANYE NORTH): To ask the Minister of Labour and Home Affairs if he is aware of the absence of a Labour Office in Kanye and that job applications are made at the Lobatse Office. 10. MR. T. G. HABANO, MP. (NGAMI): To ask the Minister of Agriculture:- (i) to brief this Honourable House on the current state of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in Ngamiland; (ii) whether the conditions of basic infrastructure on the ground, that is, the Cordon fences, Buffalo Fences, Protection Fences and the Quarantine Camps are readily available to arrest any eventualities; if not, (iii) to state the long term plans in place, if any, to control FMD in Ngamiland and assist the farms to market their livestock.
