OSO NEEDS OUR HELP. My friend Elias Kauhane took a moment out of his show last night at Kamaaina Grindz in Everett to pay tribute to the victims, searchers, volunteers and families of those effected by the catastrophic mud slide in Oso, WA. Elias reminded us that we can help. Besides the obvious needs of food and shelter, those people need clothing, blankets, eye glasses, cosmetics, bath supplies, school supplies, pet supplies, automobiles, fuel, and all the things we need in everyday life. Ideas, Grocery Gift Cards, Go to Dollar Store and fill a box, canned food. Elias said, Make a pot of chili and take it to the workers. Sounds simple but it makes so much sense. Instead of asking someone, What can I do?, just do it! Gather things from neighbors, set up a collection station on a busy corner in your neighborhood or GIVE TO THE RED CROSS!! Thank you to all those who are working to make these peoples life transitions smoother and more comfortable.
