OSUN APC CALLS FOR CANCELLATION OF ANAMBRA GUBER POLL In solidarity with the people of Anambra State, state government of Osun and the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have called for the total cancellation of the November 16, 2013 Anambra State Gubernatorial election and asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to go ahead with the scheduled supplementary election. Governor of the state of Osun, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, and acting Chairman of APC in the state, Elder Adelowo Adebiyi, made this known while leading members of the party on a solidarity rally along streets of Osogbo, the state capital. Addressing members of the state executive council, state leaders of APC and party faithfuls who participated in the rally which terminated at the entrance of the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state, governor Aregbesola said the rally was held in an attempt to express feelings of the people of the state to share in the pains and frustrations inflicted on the people of Anambra State. Governor Aregbesola, who said aspiration of APC was to see Nigeria as a nation growing into a society devoid of rancour said the election was badly conducted by INEC as a result of high rate of omission of names of eligible registered voters. Describing the election as a high level of criminality, Governor Aregbesola said the solidarity rally was held to register grievances of APC members in the state against the ignoble act as displayed by INEC saying the electoral body failed Nigerians woefully in the conduct of the election. Governor Aregbesola charged INEC to totally cancel the November 16, 2013 governorship election in Anambra State, produce a new comprehensive voters register that will give room to all eligible voters in Anambra State to exercise their civic rights and conduct a fresh governorship election for Anambra State. The Governor however said failure to meet any of these conditions by the INEC, APC leaders will have no option than to ask the National Assembly to disband INEC.
