#OTD On this day in 1960, the Liberian freighter Fransisco Morazan (carrying 900 tons of chicken, lard, and machinery) ran aground just off of South Manitou Island during a heavy gale. Thankfully, the United States Coast Guard successfully rescued all aboard. Today you can see the wreck up-close while visiting South Manitou Island.
